Recently I was looking through old photos and I was in awe of how much Savannah looks like me now.  This is me when I was 2.5-3ish and it looks JUST like Savannah now. Except the eyes, she has Mark eyes. The chin, lips, teeth, smile, crazy hair and facial expressions? All me.

Up until recently she looked more like Mark but now I can’t get over the resemblance.  I kept flipping through the pages going, “Oh my GOSH!” Of course, I can’t find any pictures of her looking like this to compare to, but I promise in person it’s true.

Oh, the blessings I find in hand-me-down clothes. Not only has it saved me hundreds of dollars (as I have only had to buy pajamas and if there was a special occasion. Other wise, right now Savannah is covered up until 3 years old, and we keep getting more to stash away!) but it also occasionally brings me sentimental items. Most of Kaylee’s clothes has been passed down to Savannah and one day I found this treasure: Kaylee’s 1st Birthday dress.

So this weekend, Savannah wore it to Kaylee’s 4th birthday. It’s crazy how the time has flown by…

First birthday is almost here. The above time is when I was about to push. She was born at 9:22 PM. It’s not quite there yet, but we knew her arrival was close. The anticipation was exciting, but the end of a pregnancy and closeness that we’ll never experience again was also saddening. Which, is kind how I feel now. Mixed. She’ll never be a newborn again, we’ll never go through this past year again, but it’s exciting to think of what the future holds for her as she is growing.

My clock is stuck at 9:13 for the next 2 days. And then, she’ll be one.

I say Semi-Wordless because I can’t just post a picture and not type some words. This is a blog after all, you know, writing. I just wanted to share the beautiful thing of a father and daughter having fun. Her laughter and smiles are the best, his willingness to act a fool and wear a bunny towel just for some giggles melts my heart. That right there is a true man. This right here is family entertainment.
