Dear Summer,
While we certainly enjoyed your stay the past few months, enjoying the heat at the beach, the pool, the splash parks, and eating snow cones….but you’ve now over extended your welcome. Fall officially starts this Thursday, but I’m still seeing 90 degree weather in our forecast. This simply just won’t do. Not just because these 90 degree days are hot and make it no fun to even walk to my car or take my daughter to play outside, but because I am running out of hot weather clothes to wear. See, I’m almost 8.5 months pregnant and my belly is growing by the second. I have only 4 shirts that fit at this point: 3 teal and 1 brown. The people who see me weekly or daily are starting to notice my shirt-wearing routine and it is kinda embarrassing. And soon…one of my favorite shirts won’t be fitting any more (see below), leaving me with only 3 short sleeve shirts to cover this belly. Do you know how many days are in a week? 7. Do the math…3 is a lot less than 7. I desperately need cooler weather so that I can change up my wardrobe, pulling out the long sleeve shirts I’ve stashed away, without spending more money on clothes I will only wear for another 6-7 weeks.
So please, pack up your 90 degree days and take a vacation until next year. I’m sure we’ll be reunited with open arms after Winter freezes us for too long and Spring brings new warmth and color, but until then…go away.
Sincerely,
The pregnant woman running out of short sleeve shirts.
(See what a difference just 2 weeks makes? It’ll only get worse as this baby packs on the pounds before birth, Summer! Be considerate and let Fall come soon.)
