Free Ticket!

Something for you none-poor people might like:  A Free Disney Pass on your b-day next year!

I wish we could go, I haven’t been to Disney World in 7 years and Mark since he was a wee little 7 year old.  And I know Savannah would LOVE it, but, the hotel cost is ridiculous.  And the food cost. So we poor people have to stay home. Boo.

And really, I’d rather put the thousands of dollars it would take to go down to FL for a vacation into buying a newer car.  Or to put towards our own house. Grand idea, huh?

Still, I thought I’d pass the saving onto you guys incase you hadn’t seen it all ready. I hope some one gets to enjoy it :-)

Scrapbooking Resource

I guess it’s just scrapbooking week for me here at the O house. Really, not much is going on in our lives, which is a good and relaxing thing! I’ve gotten several pages done both digitally and with “real” paper supplies. Score!

Some one commented with an awesome scrapbooking link that I just had to share with you guys:

IkeaGoddess

Each day IkeaGoddess takes the time to post several links to freebies she’s found on other scrapbooking blogs. So therefore, it saves time from doing your OWN search for freebies and helps connect you to other great sights for freebies, inspiration and tutorials. I love it. I do have to warn you though, some links lead to blogs in another languages, seeing that IkeaGoddess lives in Germany. But, apparently the word “freebie” is one word that is the same in both languages so it’s not hard to download.

I really think I need to invest in an external hard drive with all the freebies I gather up. Good thing my Birthday is coming up! (well, in a few months…but you know how time flies by).

That said, I’m going to be even more quieter on the blog the next few days as we’ll be without internet visiting family. Enjoy your 4th of July, folks!

Love Thursday: Free Formula

Free Formula

This Love Thursday, I’m passing the love onto you. I get this clutter out of my house, and you get free formula (or atleast discounted). It’s win-win, love-love situation!

Though Savannah hasn’t even been around formula for the past 4 months (we used formula not by choice…my school schedule messed up breastfeeding after 10 months *sigh*), we’re still getting free cases and coupons for formula. (some times I feel like she’s the only 1 year NOT on the bottle, is that true?!)

So…anyone need them? I have a $4.00 and $5.00 coupon for Enfamil Next Step formulas (ages 9-24 months). The coupons expire August 31st, 2008. Oh, but it gets better! Because I have a FREE 12 oz can of Enfamil Next Step for you! The formula expires September 1, 2009.

Want them? Have questions? It’s first come, first serve. Send me your mailing address and I’ll get them to you. Just send me an email! leah@omommawrites.com

ETA: Taken! My friend Emily is having a baby boy this fall and it will be shipped off to her :-)

BlogHer Survey

I know I haven’t been posting much lately, but, if you still love this blogger, take BlogHer’s Survey! Actually, it doesn’t have much to do with me specially, BlogHer is collecting data about how bloggers/readers spend their time and what they are looking for to better improve their ads campaigns (don’t quote me on that, that’s just how I understood it to be). BlogHer gives women the chance not only to engage in a community of bloggers, but gives bloggers the chance to make a tiny profit from their hard work!

And I’m one of them! That means that every time you view this blog, it helps pay for diapers or the many hair cuts it takes to keep up the mommy bob look. So, thanks :-)

The survey doesn’t take long, 5 minutes max (edit: Apparently it’s longer than that, sorry!). I’ve already completed mine. And really, wouldn’t it be nice to win a free trip to a BlogHer event? If you win and don’t want to go, I’ll go in your place ;-) Deal? Just take the survey! Thanks again for your support of this blog!

First Blog Give Away Winner

The first give away winner is…Cyndi! She doesn’t have a blog I can share with you all, but I can tell you she’s a wonderful woman. Her daughter has bad eczema, so I hope this product helps!

Thanks to all those who joined in and commented! I just might have more coming up soon, keep a look out ;-)

Skin MD: Best Facial Lotion

I think I’ve found a new favorite lotion! It’s a natural skin care product that acts as a shielding lotion, locks in moisture and leaves skin feeling soft. And, it’s ingredients are over 93% natural, how often can you say that in today’s trend of injecting ingredients that causes who knows what?

I’ve tried other shielding lotions and loved the results I got on these dry winter-dish-washing-diaper-changing hands, but it wasn’t up to par to use for a facial lotion for my skin type. It left my face feeling stiff and still in need of more lotion. See, my skin type is that weird combo skin during the winter: very oily but prone to getting extreme dry spots. How do you fix one problem without making the other worse? If I use a heavier lotion to cure the dryness, I get clogged pores and a shiny face the rest of the day. If I use a lighter lotion aimed toward soaking up the shine, it makes the flakes worse and pretty much is useless all around. Winter does nothing good for my skin.

I discovered Skin MD and I’m in love. It’s made for hands, feet, face and body. So, pretty much all over. Who really wants 4 different lotions for different parts, anyways? I tried it on my hands first, and loved how it was very light with no scent and soaked in immediately leaving my skin soft and hydrated. Then the next morning, in my desperate need of a face lotion I braved putting it on my face. And, it worked!

It’s light enough not to get in the way of make-up, feel heavy or greasy, but still works well to soak in the dry areas that need it. It’s the perfect balance and preface to my make up routine. It works great to apply under the eyes where they get dried out from my eye make up remover, without irritating my eyes. It’s been known to help with anti-aging, not that I’m quite there in my 20 year old body but perhaps it will help prevent aging in the future!

It’s perfect for sensitive skin (remember those natural ingredients?) and other skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis. Eczema seems to run in our family, thankfully Savannah only very slight issues with it, but I’ll be trusting this product to use on her as well.

I have to admit, too, that my feet are a disgusting cracked desert in the winter. I hate, hate, hate it. So, that’s where I’ll be applying the true test of moisture and healing.

At $25 per 4 oz. bottle, it is priced more than your typical lotion, but that’s the thing, it’s not a typical lotion. It surpasses by far and well worth the price. And, a little goes a long way so you shouldn’t need to buy it often!

Try it for your self! You can get your own free sample by sending a self addressed stamped envelope to:

Freebie

Does any body want a box of Johnson&Johnson breastfeeding pads? It’s practically a full box, I only used about 4 (leaving you about 56 pads). We stopped breastfeeding a few weeks ago, and even before then I wasn’t making enough milk to use/need them.

These were my favorite pads by far. Very comfy, rounded shape (so therefore less visible under the shirt), VERY absorbent (with little micro bead absorbent things) and they have the nifty adhesive to keep it in place. Just pay for shipping and they are yours!
