Planning a holiday can be a little stressful for many people. Even after you’ve received all the confirmation emails and your money has been paid, there’s still a lot that can go wrong. Considering that, I’ve decided today is the perfect time to write a short post explaining a number of handy tips and techniques for ensuring you never forget your essential holiday items. Obviously, you can feel free to print this article out and use it at home when the vacation is drawing nearer, but spend the next three or four minutes reading through it to guarantee you’ve not overlooked anything already.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m usually a terribly forgetful person, but that only serves to highlight exactly why writing posts like this is so useful. I’ve been on holiday three times in the last year, and not once have I forgot a single thing, which means I must be taking the right approach. So, give me your full attention, and we’ll begin…
Keep Your Passport In A Safe Place
There’s nothing worse than hearing the airport taxi outside, but not being able to find your travel documents, so make sure you dig out your passport at least two weeks before you’re due to fly and put it somewhere safe. No, not one of those safe places you forget about within minutes, but somewhere really secure. Perhaps you should keep it in the folder or cabinet you use for bills and important letters? Don’t stress too much if you find it’s out of date or you lose it completely, as you can find lots of London Victoria passport office information online.
Double Print Your Airline Booking Information
Losing your flight tickets will also cause a lot of stress, so avoid this by printing them off at least twice. After they’re printed, keep them in two separate locations around your home. That way, it’s not the end of the world if you lose one set. Also, make sure you note down your reference numbers in a couple of different places, just in case the worst happens and you lose everything you’ve printed. At least then you’ll be able to explain what happened to the airline and possibly remedy the situation.
Arrange For Friends To Check On Your House
Calls from abroad can be very expensive, and so you need to speak to your friends ahead of time to arrange for them to come around and check on your property. This is obviously more important if you have plants or animals living in the house. Who knows, you might find a friend who needs somewhere to stay for a few days, and so nobody in your street will even notice you’ve gone.
Well guys, that’s all the basics covered. If you need more tips, it might be worth sitting down and writing your own. At the end of the day, only you know which are your weakest points, and planning ahead like this could make all the difference to how much fun you have while you’re away.
Have a fantastic time won’t you!
