I have had issues with my weight for my entire life, and have bored my family with my laments. Unfortunately, my parents bought into the "little is better" ideology. Now, at 62 yrs. I am more comfortable than I have ever been with my self- and I certainly weigh more than I did, when I was much younger. Sadly, when I look back at photos of myself at 25, 35, 45 I am shocked at how thin I was. What a total waste of time and energy; to have obsessed over a number on a scale. I used to teach and I had tiny 6 and 7 yr olds fussing about their size; boys stressing about their height. We need a course "reality 101" which would show kids (and their parents)what the models/actors look like pre photo shoot. It could also teach parents the destructive power of their words when they buy into the BEAUTIFUL MYSTIQUE.

It's a sad thing when designers think that this is what the general public wants to see. They couldn't be more wrong about it! I'd say less than 5% of people would actually find this attractive. The other 95% are content with healthier looking lifestyle. I mean, not only is it hurting people, it just looks flat out ridiculous to have a head that big on a body that small. The models look like bobbleheads. :(

I am a recovered bulimic. I hurt my body and my soul just so I could look like this. A lot of other people aren't so lucky to make it out of an eating disorder alive. :(

Hmmm I like Ralph Lauren, my towels & linens are mostly by him. Aswell as my winter coat. Ralph Lauren went Fur-Free a few years back & I've been a fan ever since. Pretty much every single big company has anorexic girls as their models,or women so beautiful that they look fake. I think installing self respect & self confidence in our daughters will take us a million times farther then boycotting any company will. There are very few companies that actually promote healthy images & encourage women to be self confident & respectful. It's not their job to, it's our job as mothers to teach those very important values to our kids. JMO
