Dance Class is a Go

We decided to go ahead with the dance class.  The studio’s open house was this past Saturday so we were able to meet the teachers and hear more about it. Savannah’s class will include ballet, tap, and creative movement (which is like dancing games) with other kids her age one day a week. She is so, excited as are we for her!  She starts next Monday so I’ve been scrambling to find all the things she needs like shoes and leotards without breaking our budget.

So, can I just make a recommendation here? Consignment shops: use them!  At the dance store the studio suggested I use I would have paid about $15 for ballet slippers, $22 for tap shoes, and about $16 for a leotard. For a 2 year old…that will out grow them in months I’m sure.  Our small town has two consignment ships near by and I was thrilled to find ballet slippers her size for–get this–$1.00!  I also go her two leotards for $7.00 (that’s two for half of the price!).  I could not find white tap shoes however, so I ordered those online for $21 including shipping (still cheaper and doesn’t require me to drive 30 minutes away).

Now…she just needs a bag to carry her shoes in.  *sigh* She’s growing up so fast.

She is so cute! I loved dance when I was little. Way to go on the shopping!

Wow – Leah – she looks so grown up. *sighs*

Katie started ballet this summer (she’ll be 3 on Halloween) and she LOVES it! I mean, really loves it! Her doctor recommended it to help her with developing stronger leg muscles (she didn’t even start standing until 17 months b/c of weak leg muscles & had to see a physical therapist) & fix her intoning. Anyways, it’s totally worth the $40/month to see her having such a good time. If she didn’t like it, we would have yanked her. Some of the other girls in the class are clearly being forced into it, and scream or won’t participate… I hope Savannah enjoys herself! She looks so adorable! And I’m going to have to look into cosignment shops for ballet stuff now! We bought ballet shoes ($15), tap shoes ($15), two dresses ($20/each), and a skirt ($10)…it adds up!

Hey, thanks for the comment. I’m so sorry about the loss of your twins. Your little girl is adorable! How did you find my blog and how did you make your website like this? I would love to make a website for my cakes. Any help/advice would be appreciated. If you ever need to talk about the loss of your babies, feel free to contact me. I know the pain of nobody understanding and not validating your loss it seems.

Such an adorable photo! Can’t wait for the recital!
