Kids Music that Doesn’t Hurt My Ears
We got a “Wee Songs” tape (yes a TAPE, HA!) because it was a $1.00. And let me just say…I wanted to plug up my ears and then throw the tape out the flippin’ window. It was horrible. The songs were awful, the sound quality was terrible. Thank God for CD’s…and better music options.
I’ve been searching around for better kid’s music for in the car (or ya…when we just wanna dance around!) and so far the one I know about and LOVE is Laurie Berkner. She’s on the Noggin channel between shows and on “Jack’s Big Music Show.” If you go to that website you can see some of the fun videos they play. I also saw Lisa Loeb on that show and I think I’ll download some of her kid songs, too. And how awesome that she is doing kid music now? I used to love her stuff on the radio in the 90’s! (”You can’t hear it, but I dooo…”)
So…do you have any more suggestions for me that won’t hurt my ears?

Hey girl. I have all my kidzone songs that I meant to burn onto cds and send to Savannah before I left for Africa. As you might have noticed that did not happen haha. But I will get them to you when I get back. They might be a little old her for age, but then you will have then for as she is growing up. Plus they are about God! :) OKay well I love you & I hope you are having a good week!

Dan Zanes is a wholelotta fun. John Lithgow (yes, the actor) has some great kid songs out there. Also, Trout Fishing in America has some hilarious kids music. There are also some great kids worship options out there — Worship Jamz, etc. I’m vehemently opposed to irritating kid’s music. I would say all of these (and more) would not fit into the irritating category.
If you’re a Napster subscriber, they have that “If you like ________, check out ________” linky option. We’ve found some super fun music to download into our kids MP3 players that way. Also, thrift stores, resale shops, or eBay are great resources for cheap kid’s CDs. Good luck, and have fun!
