Houston, We’ve Got a Problem
A big problem. I’ve got a picture stealing, name using, story maker-uper person to deal with. Apparently my life is so interesting that some one felt compelled to take my life and pictures and create their own life with it on line!
This “Leah” and blog is a fake. I repeat: a fake. I’m not 17 years old, not still in HS. Savannah is already born and almost 1 now. Mark and I are already married. I do not have problems with Mark’s parents or my Mom. My Mom was not an alcoholic, etc. This is disgusting, immature, and just plain rude. I will see to it that the site is taken down.
Thank God, she did not touch the pictures of Savannah yet, because then there certainly would be hell. You just don’t mess with other people’s kids.
Seriously, immature. And scary.
Now, with that said. My flickr photos will now be moved to private, so if you still want to view them make an account and add me as a friend. And as far as this blog goes? I’m going to have to re-think about some serious privacy issues. Any suggestions?

I am so sorry that this happened to you. I have 2 beautiful children and write on opendiary as well. I do not post any pictures for this exact reason. I wish you guys the best and I hope this diary gets taken down quickly!

I found out that she was a fake today. And while I’m so disappointed that this “girl” who I thought was mature and making the right decisions despite messing up and falling pregnant… I’m also very relived to know that you and Mark are aware of it! The first thing I thought was, “Someone has to tell the real Leah!” I once had someone trying to get pictures of my daughter, after they sent me fake pictures of “their daughter”… and I agree with what Mark said on OD. Its “disgusting and extremely weird” what people will do these days just to get their time in the limelight.
He/She had us all fooled, thats for sure, but I’m glad to read about YOU GUYS, and I saw the pics on Flickr, Savannah is adorable and has a beautiful smile.
Please try to take legal action against this creep. Copyright laws are LAWS and there are consequences to breaking them!
I wish you the best in the future, and nothing like this ever happens again.

I actually had a hunch that this diary was fake a few months ago, some of the things she said just flipped a switch in me, but when I talked to other readers they thought I was bats so I let it go. I’m sorry I didn’t pry into it earlier. News travels fast on OD and everyone who read her/him/it will know it’s a fake by tomorrow. I’m sure the DM will remove it as soon as he catches wind.

Leah - Whoa. I’m so sorry you are dealing with this. I’ve seen it happen a number of times, but it never ceases to shock me that people think it is okay (or even fun?! Seriously?) I hope this all gets sorted out soon. Part of me wants to shake my fist in the air and say “If you stop writing, the faker wins!” but then again, what’s the point in ‘winning’ if you are always scared of being copied again? *sigh*

Wow, I’m so sorry that this happened to you. I actually just came across the fake diary earlier today and left a note about how “mature” she seemed. I sure was fooled.
I hope you’re able to find this hideous person and prosecute her/him to the full extent of the law!
My thoughts and prayers are with you!

I’m terribly sorry that this happened-I too had a notion that she was a bit suspicious but thought nothing more of it. It’s crap that you can’t go about your life without someone doing something so low. I do hope you guys take legal action and that person gets what she (HE?!) deserves. At least someone caught on before she stole more pictures.

I am also from Open Diary. I cannot believe someone could sink so low as to steal pictures of you and your beautiful family. Mallory, and everyone else said it all. Copyright Laws are copyright laws, and stealing is stealing.
I hope, whoever had the nerve to pretend to be you, gets into serious trouble over this childish and foolish act.

I linked off from one of my favorite od’s to her site. How horrible. I am very sorry this has happened to you, but am thankful the truth came out. The diary page has been delete. The person who created that must have severe issues. How very sad.

I e-mailed you last night about that … I can’t believe someone would do that … it’s so pathetic and I’m sure you’re furious. I hope you can take legal action against whoever that was. She was on my faves on OD. I’m SO glad it was caught before he/she (?) put pictures of your child on the site.

I was a friend of “your” diary on OD, and I’m disgusted! I can’t believe someone would steal your pictures and write a story about you and your life. That’s sick, sick, sick…
I had no clue that she was a fake, though… I genuinely believed that she was my age and about to have a baby…
Please do prosecute, as he or she could do it again.

I’m glad you got this worked out! My flickr pictures are automatically copyrighted, yours may be too, so then you could have a legal basis for taking action! It’s hard to do much else. My pics are set to friends and family only, and I have a copyright on my blog, but if you want to keep it open to new readers I don’t think there’s much else you can do :(

Hey Leah! My name is Kristin, Im a senior at Appalachian :) I was looking through Facebook at married people since Im newly engaged and having a freakout fest over where to start the wedding planning on such a LOW budget, and I came across your page and your wonderful website. I used to have my own site, but its now shut down becauuseeee- the SAME EXACT THING happened to me that is happening to you now! Some girl who didn’t like me from HS made a blog in my name and with all my information and basically slandered my name.. saying that I have sex with any guy who wants to, that I hate my parents, I have cheated on my fiance- all these mean, UNTRUE things. AND they stole pictures of my then 2 year old niece. NOT COOL when it comes to children and stealing pictures of them :( If you need any advice on what to do, I have the website and phone #s I called to get them to stop the fake website. Its amazing how sick and disturbed some people are! :( I hope you got everything worked out! :) Savannah is precious!!! :)

I don’t even know where to start. the fake you was a fav of mine over on od. it’s too weird. I was just looking at my favs and she was gone. I posted something about it, and I got two notes regarding it. The first one telling me that “she” was a fake. The second, being that this was the real website.

I was also a “friend” of the “other” Leah. Funny, I asked someone else that I knew had been reading her what had happened because I couldn’t find her. I must really be out of the loop to have missed all THAT drama last month.
I’m so sorry that this happened to you. You have a beautiful family and your adoption story is a wonderful one.
